Methods To Improve Your Real Estate Career

Welcome to Mike Ferry TV. It’s the week of Monday the 26th of May. Happy Memorial Day to our American friends. A big holiday, a little time off. Three-day weekend. Enjoy yourselves. I’m going to go through something that I wrote about a year ago, and it’s titled Methods to Improve Yourself as a person, as a Real Estate person. So, I’m going to read them to you because each one individually is stand-alone by itself. And I think any one of these, I think there’s seven that you would choose to adopt and work with would make you a better real estate salesperson.

1) Accept yourself as you presently are

So, here’s number one methods to improve yourself. Accept yourself as you presently are. Understand that you count. You’re valuable. You deserve all that you can have. Give yourself the best chance to live your life to succeed in both personal and business endeavors. Repeat this ten times every day as you start the day. What a great affirmation. Accept yourself as you presently are. Understand that you count, you’re valuable. You deserve all that you can have. Most people have very low self-esteem, and low self-esteem leads to low productivity and really a lower enjoyment of how you live your life in terms of your personal life, your family, and the work you do.

2) Never stop learning

Number two, never stop learning. We gain more knowledge about ourselves and our business when we’re passionate about the life we live and the business we have. We also learn more about ourselves when we’re doing something that forces us out of our comfort zone. You know, I read a lot of articles on social media that are written by some pretty strong, very professional authors, and one of the things that they always say almost every article. Never stop learning. And it’s a cycle that people go through. You know, you can go like this and then back down and stop learning for a while. Or you can go like this and keep learning for a lifetime. I suggest the latter of the two.

3) Improve your confidence before you can and will always find a way to accomplish it

Number three, improve your confidence before you can and will always find a way to accomplish it. Remember, knowledge equals confidence. Ignorance equals fear. I’ve been saying that for almost 50 years. Knowledge equals confidence. Ignorance equals fear. You can improve your confidence by believing more in yourself and what you’re doing, how you’re doing it, what you’re saying, how you’re saying it, what you’re acting out in actions taking, and the positivity of those actions you take.

4) Be grateful for what you’ve accomplished and use your past experiences as like number 2, a better learning experience

Number four, be grateful for what you’ve accomplished and use your past experience as like number two, a better learning experience. Remember, you don’t have to make the same mistake twice. You know, people say all the time, well, I’ve already made that mistake once. I hope I don’t do it again. No, it’s not I hope I don’t do it again. Don’t do it again. It’s learn from the mistakes you make. Be grateful for what you’ve accomplished and use your past experience as a learning experience.

5) Work to build long lasting relationships in real estate

Number five. Work to build long lasting relationships in real estate. It’s customers for life. So, it says life is always better when you surround yourself with people that you appreciate, you value, you respect, and you enjoy Günther Klaus used to say that to me all the time. You have to appreciate. You have to value. You have to respect. You have to enjoy work, to build long lasting relationships through the quality of service that you offer.

6) Never stop following your dreams and aspirations

Number six never stop following your dreams and aspirations. Prove to yourself how amazing you can be and never forget the dream is just one step away from reality. You know, I got the good fortune of playing golf with probably one of the most famous golfers in the world, Mr. Arnold Palmer, and he and I played twice. And I said to him, you act like every single putt that you take, you’re going to make it. And he looked at me and said, Michael, I expect to make it. Well, that’s following your dreams and expectations.

7) Strive for meaningful change

And number seven, strive for meaningful change. Personal growth, growth and self-improvement always makes a positive difference in a person’s life. And it has a positive effect with the people that you surround yourself with. The more powerful you become, the more you attract powerful people to be by your side, to assist you when you’re down, and to learn from you when you’re up. So simple thoughts on living a better life. Start each day by repeating those seven thoughts ten times each, till they become part of who you are and enjoy the last part of the month of May.
